About the Role

We are seeking to appoint to the role of Cyber Security Technologist Apprentice (Level 4).

As a member of the Technical Team, this role is integral to YPO’s IT Security function, providing efficient IT services and excellent standards of support throughout the organisation, through good communications skills, by assisting with cyber-related helpdesk calls and supporting staff with computer and software issues.

Overview 

The Cyber Security Technologist Level 4 Apprenticeship provides a strong introduction to protecting organisations from cyber threats. The apprentice will develop core knowledge of cyber security principles while gaining hands‑on experience in a live working environment. 

The programme covers areas such as identifying security risks, monitoring systems, responding to incidents, and applying controls to protect data and digital services. Learning is delivered alongside the role, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.

About You

As YPO continues to expand, we are looking for a positive-minded individual to join our team.   Drawing from the skills and experience section of the Job Description, we seek someone who has:

• GCSE or equivalent Grades A*-C (Grade 5 and above) in Mathematics, English Language, IT and 2 other subjects.
• A level 3 qualification, such as A levels or an equivalent BTEC
• A good understanding of the Cyber Security / Information Security: Technologies, Practices, Landscape, Confidentiality/Integrity/Availability (CIA)
• A good understanding of the work and skills required of an IT Technician.
• Customer focused with good communications skills.
• Applicants must demonstrate the ability to study at academic Level 4, equivalent to the first year of a university course.
